FCA Loudoun JV Team Wins Northern VA Travel Baseball League 2019 Columbus Day Tournament

The FCA Power won the NVTBL Fall Tournament with a 4 game sweep over the long weekend. Strong pitching dominated the competition - totaling 35 strikeouts - teamed with stellar defense and power hitting made for an unbeatable combination.  The Loudoun JV Power allowed only four runs in four games, and their record for three tournaments this year is two first places finishes and one runner up.  God has blessed these young men with the skills, the work ethic, and the determination to be the best - and they prove it on the field.

Why Play FCA Baseball?

A Coaches Testimony

"Don’t get me wrong -- I am a competitive person.  Just like any other coach, I hate losing, I hate seeing players waste talent and I want to win every single game.  I’d love to be able to tell every opponent about Jesus after we beat them by fifteen runs."

Loudoun FCA Power JV Wins USSSA Fredericksburg Tournament

Loudoun JV was playing late on Sunday in the USSSA Tournament last weekend.  After ending the first day as the #3 seed, the Power won three straight for the championship. Power players defeated older competition too - the 16U Hit Doctors and 16U Impact Baseball. Congratulations to the boys, and Coaches Adams, Sanfilippo and Franus for 'bringing home the hardware' for the weekend's work!

FCA Dominican Republic Mission Trip 2019

The FCA Loudoun JV Team has completed their Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. Blessed Thanks to George Murdock and SCORE International for their great support in-country to help us share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Team gave Devotionals and their Testimony to Dominican orphans and villagers, along with providing food and support.

From the generous donations of local Little Leagues and their families, FCA was also able to provide baseball equipment of all kinds.  The boys taught a baseball clinic at Rico Carty's camp (MLB 1963-79), did a field cleanup, and played very competitive games against Dominican teams.

Wired to Worship
“For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.” (Galatians 5:17)

Baseball is a great opportunity to worship God.  Baseball players have been created and wired to worship through competition. Unfortunately, like anything else that involves our flesh and emotions, baseball can also lead ballplayers astray and focused on themselves and their own success. Eventually this leads to a lack of joy for the game, we once loved to play.  READ MORE

A New Opportunity (Redeemed)
“In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance to the riches of God’s grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

On this date in 1944, in the game he considers his biggest thrill in baseball, Cleveland Indian hurler Bob Feller, strikes out 11 batters and throws his second career no-hitter.  Bob Feller once said; “Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is.”  He was able to say and live this way – and pitch – because he believed he was redeemed.
