This March, Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs, asks customers to eat a sub and help FCA Baseball.
This year, the Fair Lakes location sub shop is again joining forces with NOVA/DC FCA Baseball for the company’s 7th Annual March “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign. Last year’s Month of Giving raised more than $5,000 for FCA Baseball and this year Jersey Mike’s location at Fair Lakes hopes to raise even more.
During the month of March, all are invited to come into the Jersey Mike’s restaurant location at Fair Lakes and make a donation to FCA Baseball.
The campaign will culminate in the nationwide event, “Day of Giving,” on Wednesday, March 29, when Jersey Mike’s at Fair Lakes will donate 100 percent of the day’s sales to fund NOVA/DC FCA Baseball. For directions and information on the Jersey Mike's location at Fair Lakes, please visit https://www.jerseymikes.com/order/6033#/start.
If you are unable to come to the restaurant on Wednesday, March 29 you can order your sub online or make a catering order for delivery. A catering order is a great way to bless your child's teachers, your child's team, local Church Staff, a neighbor, or you and your family! Simply click here to make your order: https://www.jerseymikes.com/order/6033#/start.
“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales – every penny – goes to help a great local cause,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.
In each market, restaurant owners selected charities that make a big difference when it comes to supporting local neighborhoods and building a stronger community.
Started in 1956, Jersey Mike’s now has 1,500 restaurants open and under development nationwide. In 2016, for the third year in a row, the company was named the #1 fastest growing chain in the Nation’s Restaurant News Top 100, and continues to win best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.
“Giving…making a difference in someone’s life” has been the mission of Jersey Mike’s from the beginning. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised more than $20 million for worthy local charities and have distributed more than 1.5 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Last year, during Jersey Mike's Subs, Month of Giving, the Fair Lakes location donated $5,563 to NOVA/DC FCA Baseball. These funds were used to bless local community ballplayers attend local and Regional FCA Camps, purchase bibles for players and coaches and assisted with the overall FCA Baseball ministry operations.
"Instead of fighting to keep my faith while playing baseball, FCA Baseball provided me the avenue to connect with people who shared my faith and my sport. It gave me the opportunity to develop my skills on the field while growing in my faith, which helped me learn to discover that my greatest joy was not in being identified as a baseball player but in being a Christian. Learning to compete while keeping God at the center is invaluable and while my baseball days are done, my identity remains the same." -- Felix van der Vaart, Georgetown Universty
